‘The right to beauty’ at TEDx Krungtep
Rosanne was invited to speak at a TED event organised in September 2010 at Concordian School, Bangkok.
Her experience with Sawang Boran inspired her to talk about ‘beauty’ from an unusual perspective, human rights – in the ‘right to beauty’, especially for the countless disempowered people of the world. Their struggle for survival leaves them little scope for cultivating the kind of beauty that is inherent in their artisanal heritage and its connection with nature. The loss is also that of all people who care, who crave true aesthetic nourishment, for it is food for the soul.

I enjoyed your TED speech very much and share much of what you believe. Thanks for putting it so poignantly.
I wished there were a way to spread this more widely, also among our colleague interpreters.
Appreciated the share!
