LAT, 28, is Mae Sit’s daughter, and belongs to the generation that has not learnt to weave. But she and her mother want her to stay in the village rather than seek a city job, so she joined Sawang Boran in 2010 and hopes to be able to weave one day, if ever her efficient mother allows her to come close to the loom… In the meantime, Sawang Boran has another role for her – we had her trained, like Bua, to cut and sew garments from our silks.
